Parliament’s Security and Defence Committee affirmed its refusal to limitation on powers of the National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS)to prserves the lives and properties of citizens
as per legislations and laws enacted in this regards.
General Ahmed Imam Al Tuhami,the Chairperson of Parliament’s Security and Defence Committee has said in a statement to Sudan Media Center (smc) that reducing the powers of NISS contradicts with the tasks that should be assigned to it towards crimes related to the security of the country .
He noted that the outcomes of the dialogue have recommended via the document of peace and unity the enhancement of the capacites of the state in realizing comprehensive security by upholding interest of the homeland .
He further affirmed that Sudan’s attention to domestic,regional and tinternational security has realized more stability and development for the country as well as attracting many external investments saying these efforts encouraged the United States to lift the blockade imposed on Sudan .
He noted that all the coutries of the world are now increasing the powers and competences of their security systems for facing the emerging threats .
